Privacy Policy
Effective date: 28 September 2026
This policy explains how AnchorPoint Legal handles your personal information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We keep it short and plain.
Who we are
The responsible party is AnchorPoint Legal, which provides attorney-led legal and compliance support to insurance brokers and intermediaries in South Africa. You can reach us at ba@anchorpoint.africa or 063 160 7507.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message, plus your phone number and company name if you choose to give them.
- Chat assistant: the messages you type to Aimee, our AI assistant.
- WhatsApp, email and phone: whatever you choose to share with us, such as your name, number and the details of your enquiry.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you and your approximate country. Our hosting provider collects this to keep the site secure and to give us aggregated visitor statistics.
Please don't send us special personal information (for example health information or criminal records) or detailed information about your own clients through the contact form or chat. If we need that kind of information, we will arrange a more secure way to receive it.
Why we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, arrange a clarity call, send you a confirmation of your message, provide the services you ask for, keep this website secure, and improve our website and services. We do not sell your personal information.
If you become a client, we will also process the information we need to onboard you and deliver our services, including any verification the law requires. Our engagement letter will explain this further.
Lawful basis and consent
We process your information because you have consented (for example by contacting us), because it is needed to take steps towards or perform a contract with you, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business in a way that does not override your rights.
Confidentiality
We treat enquiries confidentially. Contacting us through this website, by WhatsApp or through the chat assistant does not by itself create an attorney–client relationship, and the chat assistant does not give legal advice.
Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Your browser may store small technical items that the site needs to work properly.
Operators and cross-border transfers
We use trusted service providers (operators) to run this site and our business: Lovable (website hosting and visitor statistics), Supabase (the functions that process the contact form and chat), Resend (sending contact form emails), Google (generating chat assistant replies, through Lovable's AI service, and serving the fonts on this site), and WhatsApp/Meta (if you message us on WhatsApp). Some of these store or process information outside South Africa. We only use providers that are bound by laws, binding agreements or policies that give an adequate level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, or as long as the law requires. Client records are kept for the periods that legal and regulatory rules require. We don't save chat assistant conversations in our own systems; your messages are passed to our AI provider only to generate a reply. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls and encrypted connections. If we become aware of a security compromise affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it;
- ask us to correct or update inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete or destroy your information;
- object to processing of your information;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, email ba@anchorpoint.africa. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Direct marketing
We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them or you are an existing client. Every message includes a way to opt out, and you can also tell us at any time to stop.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please talk to us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
